Trade Up Mock

This is not going to be an in-depth analysis mock. This is more of a mock that I will be interested to get peoples' take on. Here I go:

Steelers resign Hampton, Clark, Reed, Townsend, Eason. The lone free agent the Steelers bring in is RB Leon Washington. RFA tender Colon, Gay, Sepulveda, Spaeth.

Steelers get two 5ths and one 7th round pick as compensation for free agent losses.

Steelers select 18th. Steelers then package their 2nd, 3rd, and 7th picks to move up with Philadelphia at pick 24 and then gain pick 87.

1. OG Mike Iupati, Idaho
1. DE Jared Odrick, Penn State
3.OT Ciron Black, LSU
4. NT Cam Thomas, North Carolina
5. S Harry Coleman, LSU
5c. CB Chris Chancellor, Clemson
5c. OLB Arthur Moats, James Madison
6. TE Nate Byham, Pittsburgh

7c. OLB O'Brien Schofield, Wisconsin

OL thoughts:
This area is addressed early with Iupati and Black. They are both good run and pass blockers. It is not only essential to run the ball better....but also protect Big Ben better. Iupati still could use some work in pass protection.....but I view Iupati as our LG of the future and Black as the RT of the future.

DL thoughts:
This area is also addressed early with Odrick and Thomas. Both are tearing up at the Senior Bowl. Odrick has potential to be the second coming of Aaron Smith. Thomas is the big run stuffer than can train behind Hampton until he is ready to take over.

Secondary thoughts:
Addressed later with Coleman and Chancellor. Good potential CB and S prospects. Would have been addressed earlierbut Odrick presented better value.

OLB thoughts:
I thought Moats would present value for this next season. Then, when Schofield is ready.....he can start contributing. He had tons of potential before his injury....if he can return to form he is worth the pick.

TE thoughts:
Byham is a Miller clone. He could really surprise us with his potential.

Roster shakes out like this:

QB/ Roethlisberger, Dixon, Batch
RB/ Mendenhall, Moore, Washington
TE/ Miller, Spaeth, Byham, Johnson
WR/ Ward, Holmes, Wallace, Sweed, Logan
OL/ Starks, Kemoeatu, Hartwig, Foster, Colon, Iupati, Black, Legursky, Foster
DL/ Smith, Hampton, Keisel, Hood, Odrick, Thomas, Eason
LB/ Harrison, Woodley, Timmons, Farrior, Fox, Frazier, Bailey, Moats
CB/ Taylor, Gay, Townsend, Burnett, Lewis, Madison
DB/ Polamalu, Clark, Mundy, Carter
ST/ Reed, Sepulveda, Warren/Retkofsky
IR/ Schofield

Practice squad shapes out like this:

DE Harris
DT McClendon
CB Chancellor
S Coleman
T Hills
WR Grisham
WR Chery
RB Redmen

Thomas will be gone long before the 4th. Like the idea of grabbing the extra 1st for Odrick.
