I knew I would get some complainers with 2 TEs in the draft. The reality is that this class is deep with talented TEs. We have one proven TE in Miller. Spaeth flat out sucks if he is not being asked to play in place of Miller. Spaeth will never be more than a #2 TE in this offense. And in that role he sucks because his blocking is piss poor. Peek's and Byham's is already at a very high level when you talk to most scouts. And they double as receiving threats. It is clear that a #2 Te in the Steelers office is first most in the game to block, then go play catch. Matt Spaeth is not a #2 TE for the Steelers...he just is not an effective blocker.

What is the problem with having multiple, good TEs? If Bruce is going to stick with the multiple TEs, why not get him some good talent at the position? Why not roll the dice and see what Bruce can do when he has more than one good TE....I love TEs and their ability to block like a tackle yet still be able to patrol the middle of the field and catch passes thrown their way. If you get good TEs, you can set killer edge runs....which is what Parker used to love with a Krieder leading him out towards the edge with Miller or Tuman blocking for him.

We must continue to upgrade the areas that are of need. TE is a big need behind Miller. Johnson will never be more than a hybrid at the position, and he is already a good lead blocker.

this is the best mock draft you've done, i like odrick, i watch him play in high school and in college and i think he would be a perfect fit at de in our defense

Thank you. However, I must give credit where credit is due. I have to thank a friend for alerting me to LaMarcus Coker, Sam Shields, and Sam Maxwell.

Chancellor and Connor would not fit in this system. Chancellor just can't cover very well and Connor is super undersized a la Bruce Davis.

Like your picks other than those two.

Chancellor is lighting up the Shrine practices..

If you play Chancellor at SS, I would be okay with the pick in the 5th round.

He struggled the first two days, he has rebounded.
